In April 24, 1999, the Filipino-Swiss Thurgao Circle, an international
association established in Frauenfeld, Switzerland organized a festival
for their Batanes Hospital project. The evening festival attracted around
500 guests who were treated with buffet of Filipino food and entertained
by various folklore presentations including the Manila Vocal Ensemble.
The occasion was a success through the leadership of its president, Ms.
Marian Abderhalden. The occasion raised 7,400 Swiss francs for the project.
The organization then made the necessary purchases in Germany and Manila
and was personally delivered to Batanes by one of its Ivatan officer Ms.
Maritess Montoya-Savioz last May 2000.
The donated instruments were:
2 Nursery Incubator (Vickers)
2 Sphygmomanometer
2 Stethoscope (Kenz)
5 Suction Machine with nebulizer (Thomas)
3 Perlilight (Infrared light)
3 Spotlight (Droplight) and other accessories
On behalf of the Ivatan Community, BatanesOnline.com
would like to thank the leadership of Ms. Marian Abderhalden including
the officers, members and supporters of the Filipino-Swiss Thurgao Circle
for this valuable donation to the people of Batanes.
May your organization continue to grow.
