Ivatan Declared Regional Super Quiz Bee Champion

Ma. Jowina Hidalgo Galarion, Grade III pupil of the Basco Central School outdid 5 other elementary contestants in the Regional Super Quiz Bee held at DECS, Tuguegarao City on October 20, 2000.

The coverage of the quiz bee are Mathematics, Science and History. She perfected the score all the way. It was the first time in the history of regional super quiz bee that answers were perfected.

The Ivatan super quiz winner is the eldest daughter of Mr. Wilbur Galarion, DAR-PARO, Batanes and Mrs. Mercy Joan Hidalgo Galarion, Financial Accounts Specialist at the PNB-Basco.

Ma. Jowina recalls three most impressive questions in the three levels. EASY: What is the most peaceful and bloodless revolution? It was simple for her to say People Power Revolution. AVERAGE: What do you consider illegal gambling? She was updated in current issues so she said Jueteng. DIFFICULT: Where did Erap have his oath taking as president? She did not forget Barasoain Church.

From easy to difficult all her answers were perfect. Her official Coaches are Mrs. Jane B. Bidayan (a veteran coach) and Mrs. Laura C. Barcelona. She was chaperoned by Mrs. Barcelona and her mother, Mrs. Galarion.

The young super quiz winner is now preparing for the national level at Subic on December 15, 2000.
