CELLSITE ACCESS NOW OPERATIONAL IN BASCO

SMART initiative to establish cellsite now links Batanes closer and closer to the rest of the world. Cellsite access in Batanes (a dream 2 years ago) punched operation on June 22, 2003 thus exciting Ivatans to contact friends, relatives, associates and colleagues outside Batanes as far as those abroad.

With the technology at hand, the highway on communications is as speedy as light in seconds.

Cellphones would be booming in the province as they are now available from authorized dealers and distributors. This will entice people at all levels to own one.

GLOBE telecom will soon establish its cellsite in Basco, at which its tower will be erected at sitio Pahuteng behind Basco Cathedral.

Two modern telecommunications company serving Batanes, subscribers would be ensured of quality service.

Geographically we are isolated but because of high-tech telecommunications Batanes is merely in the neighborhood.
