LIGHTHOUSE IN NAIDI HILLS NEARING COMPLETION

The lighthouse in Naidi Hills, Basco (one of the 3 lighthouses in Batanes proposed by Cong. Abad) is nearing completion. At this stage it already has lighting facilities.

The structure is a 6-storey building; the viewing deck at the 5th floor; Ivatan house (near the main structure) of vernacular architecture is about to be through.

Aside from serving as lighthouse, it can be a tourist's attraction. The viewing deck is a perfect location where one views the whole of Batan Island from end to end; one can also have a dear view of Sabtang Island in the south of Basco and Itbayat in the north.
