G. Potable Water and Sanitation

Potable water supply was made available to 98.18% of the total number of households during 1999 while 99.6% of all household in the province had been observed with property constructed and sanitized toilets.

In 1999, there had been eighty (80) reported cases of TB and all of them were enrolled for treatment and regularly followed up by a provincial nurse/TB coordinator. On dental services, a total of 3,987 patients had been treated at the three dental clinics in the province during the year. Of this total, 59 were pregnant mothers, 587 were pre-schoolers, 1,878 were children while 1,463 others were adults.
