F. Health Care and Nutrition

The coverage of fully immunized child (FIC) has been maintained at 100%. Maternal mortality was maintained at 0% something that had been going on for the past twenty (20) years. It is noted, however, that in 1999, there had been one case of maternal mortality seconded to high -risk pregnancy. It is sad to note that there had been an increase in infant mortality rate (MR) from 28.26% live births in 1998 to 36.78% per 1,000 live births in 1999. This increase could be attributed to high incidence of early-unwanted pregnancies. Some mothers, don't reveal their pregnancy thus, would not avail of pre-natal services; they only seek medical services during their actual delivery or after, which by then is already too late, leading to deaths.

Among pre-schoolers, malnutrition has remained at 0%. With a slight decrease in the cases of mild to moderated malnutrition.

A total of 106 cases of goiter have been recorded and all of them were given iodised oil capsules. While target total of 1,820 people were given Vitamin "A" and 130 others got iron supplement.
