K. Fisheries

Guided by the national vision of food security and self-sufficiency as programmed by the Estrada administration, the Fisheries section of the Provincial Agriculturist Office prepared an action plan aimed attaining food security as spelled out by the National Government and the medium-term fishery work plan for the Agricultural and Fisheries Act. This comprehensive study drew up the direction of the sectoral development of the fishing industry of the province. Under research, an assessment of the seaweed resource in the province was made and also a comprehensive study to determine species of commercial value was conducted. Completed recently was the Fisheries Stock Assessment Project in the province. All these projects are considered essential for the modernization , production and regulation of the province's fishery resource.
