I. Crops Development Program

To increase productivity and to attain sufficiency as mentioned in the province's mission, the present administration implemented among others, the programs on crop production under the "Agrikulturang Makamasa", especially the thrust of producing high value commercial crops as a component approach to increase income among marginal farmers has benefited practically all garlic producers province-wide on the aspects of production, market linkages and other pertinent issues and concerns.

Crop Research Program:

Under the administration's thrust towards rice sufficiency, the province through the provincial agriculture research program conducted two adoptability trials on six varieties of rice from Philippine Rice an irrigated rice variety testing experiment.

These undertakings were aimed at establishing a baseline data for the intensification of upland rice production in the province.

In connection with researches on local crops, the second trial for integrated pest management had already been completed and efforts to establish a pilot project on irrigated rice for six varieties of lowland rice has been undertaken at a 1,000 Sq. M. piece of land in the municipality of Mahatao.
