by Mrs. Necitas G. Alconis - Philippine Information Agency - Batanes
Boat
from La Union brought to Batanes on April 14, 2003 TECHNO Caravan to
conduct training on aqua culture for fisher folks for 2 days.
The CARAVAN brought fishing gears and 2
Smoke House and some 5000 Tilapia Fingerlings to Batanes.
Tilapia fingerlings are given for free
to recipients who meet the requirements to ensure survival of tilapia.
BFAR evaluates the recipients' tilapia
pond as to size and condition of water which should be clear and that
walls of the pond should already be greenish to provide supplemental
food for the tilapia aside from commercial or other feeds.
Uyugan municipality is in progress of aqua
culture agri-business.
