School of the Future Pupil Grabs Regional Super Quiz Bee Championship; 2nd place at the National Level

Maribel G. Gavilan, Grade VI School of the Future pupil at the Basco Central School was named the Regional Super Quiz Bee Champion in History.

Gavilan perfected score from Easy to Difficult. The regional champion was awarded trophy and medal.

She was region 02's bet for the national level held at the DAP Tagaytay on December 15, 2001. Her performance showed perfect score from easy to average, however, one question in the Difficult Category failed the expectations for a simple mistake. Of the 16 contestants, she alone got the correct name (if it were oral) but written answers needed to be flashed. The Ivatan champion wrote Alvares instead of Alvarez.

Throughout the competition, she looked composed and showed no signs of tension unlike her parentrs and coach behind.

The Difficult Category determined Who's Who. NCR's bet edged over Gavilan, declaring her National Super Quiz Bee second placer. She received a trophy and certificate and her coach Mrs. Jane Bidayan was awarded a trophy.

For three consecutive years, Mrs. Bidayan has been the division Super Quiz Bee Coach, and twice her contestants proved excellent with perfect score in the regional match.
