Two from Basco Central qualify for NSPC

First-timers Jerwin Garrido and Stephanie Cielo qualified for the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held in Tacloban, Leyte on February 8-12 2000. The two campus writers represented Basco Central School.

For the first time, BCS was able to participate in the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held at Nueva Viscaya Comprehensive High School, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya last November 16-19, 1999.

The 4-day conference was full of challenging tasks and lectures for the campus writers. All the participants joined two categories in English and Filipino. Garrido won 5th and 6th places in Editorial and News Writing in English, respectively. Cielo won 5th in Editorial Writing in Filipino. Another delegate, Katrina Malillin, landed 9th in Feature Writing in Filipino.

The other delegates who participated in the regional event were Jowina Galarion, Minerva Ventolero, and Aubrey Bermudes. All participants were first and second placers during the Division level contest. Their coaches were Mrs. Catalina V. Lima and Mrs. Giorgann G. Cariaso.
