Our objectives:
BatanesOnline.com was launched aimed to provide an online source of news and feature articles about Batanes and the Ivatan Community worldwide. A place where you can keep track of the issues and events affecting the Ivatan Community. It is also a place where Ivatans can exchange views and comments and keep in touch with each other.

This project will support all initiatives that promote and preserve the Ivatan values and cultural heritage. It also aims to cultivate the Ivatan camaraderie and foster awareness that we can collectively contribute to the needs of the Ivatan community.

This project is not connected to any political, religious or similar interest group.

Sources of news contents:
News comes from various individuals, government agencies in Batanes as well as non-government organizations.

We also welcome contributions from the Ivatan Community especially when there are newsworthy activities or announcements which other Ivatans might be interested to know.

People behind this project:
Ivatans (and Ivatans at heart) dedicated to keep the Ivatan spirit of camaraderie alive are the people behind this project. Naming one would be unfair to the others who have helped in one way or another. Supporters of this project have offered their free services to design the site, coordinate news feed, convert materials into electronic format and other mundane but necessary details to successfully launch this project.

As an Ivatan (or an Ivatan at heart) you are already part of this project.
